DON’T SWEAT IT: CACAO AND RESET CEREMONY

Hosted by The Standard Spa Miami Beach

POV: You’re halfway through L.E/ week and you’re feeling every.single.hour of it…

…happily, we’ve got the antidote you need to reset and refocus ahead of your final day: an immersive and intimate sound and cacao ceremony, hosted at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach. Through visual meditation, soothing vocals, and mindful movement — and a little help from power plant cacao — you’ll flush out everything that no longer serves you, opening your heart to the possibility of pursuing a life you love. (Don’t say we never gave you anything.)

PS: The ceremony will take place in a hammam, so bring your swim gear to change into. PPS: Cacao contains caffeine properties, so your post-ceremony high may linger after you leave. Oh, and for this reason — we recommend arriving sober to maximise the experience.

TOKYO SHIFT: A CELEBRATION OF JAPANESE LIVING CULTURE

Hosted by Nobu Hotel Miami Beach

Japan and South Florida are an unlikely pairing: but the two locations actually share a rich cultural history that stretches back over a century.

Delray Beach’s Morikami Museum is a gorgeous monument to Japanese living culture — home to more than 7,000 art objects & artefacts, it’s worth a visit for its world-class bonsai collection alone.

With Japanese tastemakers Nobu Hotel Miami Beach as your guide, you’ll meander through 16 acres of landscaped lakes and gardens — a welcome tonic after two nights of South Beach revelry — and discover the storied history of Japanese influence in the region.

IN YOUR ART DECO ERA: BTS TOUR OF VILLA VERSACE

Hosted by The Setai, Miami Beach

A strong contender for Miami’s most opulent address — in a city just filled with them — is Casa Casuarina, the spectacular former home of Gianni Versace.

The third-most-photographed house in America (after The White House and Graceland) this art-historian-guided tour will let you peek behind the gilded curtain of this Art Deco masterpiece, as well as other properties on its iconic Ocean Drive neighbourhood.

After snapping ‘gram-worthy shots of the Medusa pool and edenic gardens, you’ll gather back at The Setai, Miami Beach, for a storytelling session centred around the history of Art Deco and to clink glasses with the hotel’s executive team.

ISLAND LIFE: SAIL AWAY TO STILTSVILLE

Hosted by GMCVB

The unique and historic Stiltsville is a fascinating cluster of colourful houses built in the middle of Biscayne Bay, with an equally colourful history: think gambling, rum-running and mob-filled, all-night parties in the 1950s.

We can’t take you back in time, but we can let you explore this extraordinary landmark while it’s still standing tall: rising sea levels and other natural disasters mean it may not be around forever.

Only accessible by boat, you’ll hop on for a guided tour, an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of South Beach. Oh, and for those interested in tracking the elusive “Space Invader” mosaics, you’ll get a perfect view on this intimate tour.

MELODIC MIAMI: A MUSICAL TOUR THROUGH THE MAGIC CITY

Hosted by GMCVB

Gloria Estefan. Enrique Inglesias. Rick Ross. KC and the Sunshine Band. Miami Sound Machine. (And, uh, Pitbull.) Miami’s musical output is a melodic melting pot that’s as colourful and influential as the city itself.

(Not to mention the truly ~iconic~ performances through the years — Prince’s rain-soaked halftime show at the Super Bowl XLI, anyone?) From Little Haiti to Historic Overtown, Little Havana and back to South Beach, this whistle-stop tour of Miami’s musical hotspots will bring both the tunes and the vibes to last your entire L.E/ week.

THE GILDED AGE: A VISIT TO VIZCAYA

Hosted by Mr C Miami – Coconut Grove

For over a century, the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens has been one of Miami’s most unique cultural gems — a stylish hub of creativity and innovation as well as a National Historic Landmark.

With ridiculously perfect views over the Atlantic, you’ll be able to explore this breathtaking Gilded Age estate and take in its (ample) natural beauty while uncovering Miami’s storied past, before heading to Mr C Miami Coconut Grove for drinks on the stunning roof terrace.

Run by the Fourth Generation Cipriani Brothers, Ignazio and Maggio, Mr C represents a modern version of old-world simplicity, stylish European glamour, and Miami at its most elegant. Dive right in.

RENOURISHING THE EARTH: THE ART OF COMPOSTING

Hosted by 1 Hotel South Beach

Making sustainability sexy isn’t easy, but 1 Hotels continue to show us why they’re a cut above, with their mission to achieve at least 90% diversion from landfills and incinerators and pacing to achieve zero waste in just two years’ time.

Now, they’re lifting the curtain compost on their sustainability journey, inviting this year’s media crew to visit their official partners at the Compost for Life Farm to get their hands dirty. You’ll learn about the end-to-end composting process, before heading back to 1 Hotel South Beach for a well-earned, plant-powered lunch at PInthouse. Obvious, but wear light clothes and closed-toe shoes (1 Hotel will provide suitably chic headwear).

PAINT THE TOWN PINK: A MORNING AT THE SURF CLUB

Hosted by Four Seasons at The Surf Club

If this experience were a person, we’d marry them. Picture the scene: you arrive at an acceptably early (9am) painting class in the Four Seasons at The Surf Club’s poolside cabanas, sipping your coffee while the waves ripple in the background.

Putting down your paintbrush at half-past ten, you’re whisked off in a custom MOKE — a newly electric vintage vehicle — for a leisurely tour of the Bel Harbour Shops, where you’re treated to a exclusive preview of expansion plans, upcoming additions and more. Finally, you’re thirsty — so it’s lucky you’re being hurried back to the Crudo Bar, handed a glass of champagne and watching as your seafood lunch is prepared fresh before your eyes. (Oh, and Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner honeymooned here, so there’s that.) Fin.

OFF THE WALL: THE STORY OF AMERICAN GRAFFITI

Hosted by EAST Miami

Whether you think graffiti is divine or destructive, your opinions will be challenged and your senses enlivened in this fascinating graffiti workshop experience.

Centred around a visit to the world’s only museum dedicated to this controversial art form, The Museum of Graffiti celebrates the pioneers of the movement and tells the real story of its birth, growth and future. As you’ll discover, the Museum experience includes an indoor exhibition space, eleven exterior murals, a fine art gallery, and a world-class gift shop stocked with limited edition merchandise and exclusive items from the world’s most talented graffiti artists.

With your senses suitably treated, you’ll end the afternoon up on Sugar — EAST’s rooftop bar, with electric views of the beach and sunset.

L.E/T’S GET IT ON: AN AFTERNOON IN ALLAPATTAH

Hosted by GMCVB

Art. Sex. BBQ. (Perhaps we’ve saved the best ‘til last.) ICYMI, Wynwood’s artistic spirit has now ventured west to Allapattah…

…a rapidly gentrifying enclave that’s incredibly culturally rich, thanks to its diverse (Central American, Cuban and Caribbean) residents, buzzy restaurant scene and array of museums.

From the just-opened Museum of Sex — a unique 32,000 square-ft space designed in collaboration with renowned multidisciplinary design studio Snøhetta — to the Rubell Museum (AKA one of the world’s most impressive private art collections), you’ll journey through contemporary art at its *finest*.

With Allapattah’s new burgeoning art scene comes a host of new bars and restaurants, including MICHELIN-approved Leku and trendy Hometown Barbecue. Satisfaction guaranteed.
