Earlier this year, we made the difficult decision to postpone L.E/Miami 2020 due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control: COVID-19 and its impact on global travel. Until quite recently, our team remained hopeful that by October of this year, the virus would be minimised and restrictions on travel would be lifted, allowing us to once again gather on South Beach and redefine the future of contemporary travel.
Unfortunately, cases of COVID-19 are currently surging in the state of Florida, and stages of reopening have been repealed in Miami-Dade County as a result. Our primary event venue, the Miami Beach Convention Center, is currently in-use as a COVID testing centre and will continue to be used in this capacity until at least 8 September.
After reviewing every possible option for this year’s show, it’s become apparent that it is simply not possible to assemble our global collective for L.E/Miami 2020. We would never want to jeopardise the health or safety of our community members, or that of their loved ones. We have therefore decided to postpone the eighth iteration of L.E/Miami until 14-17 June 2021, with the best interests of our community in mind.
In the meantime, our goal is to equip our community with the connections, insights and collective support necessary to weather this storm through the end of this year – to empower every member of the L.E/ collective to band together and fight for the future of our industry. Stay tuned to our L.E/Digital hub for on-demand content on everything from reopening timelines to trend forecasts.
There’s a lot of uncertainty in our world right now, but we know one thing for sure: the only way through is together. We will travel again. We will do business again. We will dance and clink glasses on South Beach again. In the meantime, we’re here with you – every step of the way.
