Since 2013, L.E/Miami has curated the sexiest lifestyle-led properties on the planet. Eleven years and thousands of hotel openings later, what does limited edition look like in 2024? If the list below is anything to go by, the future of boutique hospitality is in very safe hands.
And while the lobbies and amenities may change, some things never do. Hotels with a sexy independent streak, a considered and clear POV, and a commitment to celebrating art, music, fashion and local communities will always be in style. From rustic island retreats to mediterranean superyachts; restored western saloons to the latest outposts of Nobu, 1 Hotels, Mondrian and more, this year’s hotel hotlist is the biggest and boldest we’ve ever had. 1 HOTEL MELBOURNE
Australia
One of nine antipodean hotspots who made the cut this year, 1 Hotel Melbourne is the brand’s long-awaited Australian debut. A heavenly juxtaposition of the floral and futuristic (hey, pristine glass and greenery exterior), the 280-room hotel will sit on the shores of the city’s Yarra River, with 1 Hotels’ signature sustainable approach embedded throughout.

21 CARPENTER HOTEL
Singapore
Singapore is frenetic — that’s why we love it. But even the busiest city slicker needs to take five sometimes, which is why 21 Carpenter’s dedication to thoughtfulness and serenity is right up our L.E/. Plus, it’ll feature commissioned works by local artists, while in-room amenities will also be sourced from the city’s up-and-coming creators.

Thailand
City vs nature? Don’t make us choose — Aman’s newest opening won’t. A self-described ‘urban oasis’, the brand’s first Thai outpost is named for the country’s visionary developer. If you need us, we’ll be by the rooftop infinity pool.

Italy
The self-proclaimed home of the artist, Casa Monti celebrates the art of la dolce vita with 36 bedrooms each imbued with vibrant, personalised designs. (They had us at vivi la vita in style.) This is the ultimate hidden gem hangout to channel your inner boho-chic spirit in Rome (think Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday), through the lens of contemporary luxury. The vibes? Immacolata.

FAIRMONT BREAKERS LONG BEACH

Long Beach might not have the glamorous allure of L.A., but Fairmont Breakers is (almost) here to change all of that. Once the stomping ground of Liz Taylor and Clark Gable, this 1920s building is being reimagined as the city’s first boutique hotel, complete with live jazz club. From one roaring twenties to another, it couldn’t be better timed.

FARASHA FARMHOUSE
Morocco
A regenerative farm, bijoux guesthouse and artisanal showcase in one, Farasha Farmhouse is quite possibly the chicest hotel on this year’s Master List. The project of power couple Rosena and Fred Charmoy, it’s a living celebration of art: custom tapestries, sculptures, books, crystals and 1970s furniture abound.

Greece
Ye gods, Gundari is a slice of Greek heaven. With wraparound views of the Aegean, it’s the perfect complement to the raw and rustic island of Folegandros, far from the madding Mykonos crowds. (This is a very good thing.) We’re particularly excited to try the Ancient Greek-inspired spa and sample sea-to-table fare at Orizon restaurant.

HOTEL ANNA & BEL
USA
Philly doesn’t always get enough contemporary love. Hotel Anna & Bel (Life House Hotels) are here to change all that with their 50-key urban oasis, opening this March in Fishtown, Philly’s hippest, artiest ‘hood. It’ll also serve as the home of Bastia, a new venture from chef Tyler Akin.

HÔTEL DU COUVENT
France
Details are so far, so scarce on Hôtel du Couvent, the upcoming opening from Perseus Properties (the brains behind longtime L.E/ crush, Le Pigalle). And that just makes us want to find out more about this 16th-century convent-turned-Provençal-retreat — whose promo shots of bulbous garlic, sunkissed tomatoes and marbled fireplaces are giving pure chic.

Equal parts fantastical and inviting, the interiors of Mondrian’s debut UAE opening are simply *chef’s kiss*. Imagined by architect Tristan du Plessis, the hotel will also boast its own crystal-clear lagoon, so you can live out all your Little Mermaid dreams while hopping between the property’s six restaurants.

NUJUMA, A RITZ-CARLTON RESERVE
Saudi Arabia
Nowhere on earth will see more high-end openings in the next few years than Saudi Arabia. Happily, Nujuma more than deserves the hype: prettily perched on a secluded Red Sea archipelago, it’s a gem for diving, indoor-outdoor architecture and stargazing (literally — each room is equipped with an actual telescope).

Straight out of a fairytale, this newly renovated 15th-century former castle is the stuff of dreams. If 2024 is your year to reign as the ultimate wellbeing ~queen~, this is your haven.
