SESSIONS

01 / 06

The neuroscience of experience, ritual and connection. This enlightening 30-minute session will serve as the jumping-off point for the Master Day, priming you perfectly for our full agenda of thought leadership sessions. Celebrated Creative Scientist and prominent public speaker Katherine Templar Lewis will welcome you into a ‘liminal space’, beginning with a short introduction to the neuroscience of connection and how it can create both meaningful and memorable experiences for guests. You’ll also discover the neuroscience tools that can help you and your business craft experiences that foster connection and belonging.

You’ll then put theory into practice. Together with your fellow industry leaders, you’ll take part in a bespoke audiovisual breathing experience, designed to ground you to the present, better connect to your peers and set you up for the day ahead.

How to prepare now for the disruption that lies ahead. Lifestyles and expectations towards luxury brands and services are changing faster than ever before, but the next generation – those born between 1997 – 2012, aka Gen Z – is fast becoming the most influential group for high-end brands.

  • Led by luxury futurist Daniel Langer, hold tight for a deep dive into the trends you need to know about, right now:
  • · What the need to create “cultural capital” means to the future of travel
  • · How Gen Z are shaping the future of travel

· How to create extreme value in your business in times of rapid change

  • · How new lifestyles and expectations are shaping the future of travel

Simple yet impactful changes you can make today to transform your company’s impact, operations, and bottom line. Taking accountability of your environmental and social impact is no longer a nice-to-have: it’s business critical. But often the journey to becoming a more sustainable operation is complex and costly.

In this vital discussion panel, in association with Design Hotels, steered by sustainability gurus Melony Van Der Merwe (Weeva) and Paul Salmon (Rockhouse Foundation & Rockhouse), Emma Riley (AKQA Bloom) and moderated by Sarah Doyle (Design Hotels) you’ll hear real-life success stories, actionable insights and simple changes you can start implementing in your hotel or property, right now.

It’s estimated that the hospitality industry is responsible for 1% of total global carbon emissions — and latest research shows that hotels must aim to reduce emissions 66% per room by 2030, in order to slow this troubling trend. But how can hotels implement and showcase their long-term sustainability initiatives in ways that are not only impactful, but believable?

In this session Rob Holzer, CEO of the award-winning social impact consultancy Matter Unlimited (certified B-Corp) will demonstrate how to leverage your brand for good – and communicate your sustainability goals, targets and initiatives authentically and transparently.

How to become the most impactful leader you can possibly be — and steer your teams to even greater heights. Join Simon Court, Chairman and founder of Value Partnership, a London-based leadership consultancy, as he guides you through a personalised workshop tailored to hospitality’s C-suite.

It works like this: before meeting in Miami, all Masters will receive an invitation to complete the GC Index assessment* and will receive their personalised report. During the workshop, Simon will then guide the Masters through the insights, demonstrating 1) how to power your own growth as a leader and 2) to better build a game-changing team around you.

*The GC Index is a People & Organisation Assessment tool. Based on a high-level business cycle, it can identify where individuals and teams naturally want to make an impact and contribution.

The different types of mergers & acquisitions (M&A); the benefits of M&A for hospitality businesses; and, critically, how to successfully execute a potential M&A transaction. Tune in to this fascinating panel discussion on hospitality mergers and acquisitions: sure, not the sexiest topic in travel, but one that is becoming increasingly prescient with the rise of digital technology, the changing needs of global travellers, and increasing competition from other industries.

With numerous benefits – including helping businesses to expand into new markets, acquire new brands, and gain access to new technologies and talent – M&As allow hospitality brands to adapt, thrive and grow. Strategise and soak up insights as Bashar Wali (Practice Hospitality) grills gurus David Taylor, Jake Wurzak and Shai Zelering.
